What is the difference between personality and temperament in cats?
Personality is "what a cat does". This changes depending on age, circumstances, and environment. A cat's personality would be something like being a lap cat, being super playful, loving to go places or meet new people.
Temperament is "what a cat is". This is engrained in the cat from birth and will not change. A cat's temperament would be laidback, skittish, talkative, scared, bold or adventurous.
What is the personality and temperament of your kittens?
Our kittens have an amazing nature! Our kings, Hugo and Picasso are sweet, gentle, laidback boys with strong genes. Since we have added them into our breeding program, our kittens have all been sweet, gentle and easy going. Some of them are more bold and playful than others, but they all like people, attention, and are the most amazing kittens you will find!
What is the personality and temperament of your Kings and Queens?
Personality and temperament are the third thing we breed for (behind breed standard and health). Our kings and queens each have their own unique, wonderful personality, but are all people-loving, attention-loving, and sweet. We would never add a cat to our breeding program who does not have those 3 traits.
Do Maine Coons need to go outside?
No, Maine Coons do not need to go outside. Some may enjoy it, but they do not NEED to go outside to live a happy, full life. If you would like to take your Maine Coon outside, there are some safe options you can go with, such as harness and leash training or an outdoor catio. Under no circumstances should a Maine Coon be allowed to be outside unsupervised, weather you live in the country of the city.
