Our nursery is designed specifically for growing kittens. If kittens are not birthed in the nursery, they are moved here into the box when they are 3 weeks old. This box is large and can accommodate 2 different litters, separated from each other if need be. The nursery is kept temperature controlled and is cleaned on a regular basis. When kittens are old enough, they are allowed out of the nursery to be with the family and mingle with the older cats. Kittens are always kept in the nursery, with only their mother, at night and when we are gone to ensure their safety.
